It is a happy Monday indeed. I am currently sitting on the beach in Waikiki enjoying the sunshine and surf (literally)... I am taking a surfing lesson. Go me! And guys, this is HUGE because I don't think it is possible to grasp the immense gravity that is my fear of the ocean... or more specifically, of sharks. Even typing that word just gave me the chills. Um hello, does anyone else watch shark week? But I am trying this new thing where I do three things a day that scare me. Number one was flying to a destination on my own without my hubs (i'm always a nervous traveler). Number two is surfing in the ocean where sharks roam free. Number three is surfing in the ocean where sharks roam free while being filmed. Yikes! But hey, you only live once and the time is NOW!
Fears (and tackling fears) aside though, it is just so cool to be out here experiencing the island and to get a taste of Hawaiian culture. It's so incredibly breathtaking here. I wish I could stay forever.
It's so weird traveling to a tropical destination when your mind was just starting to get used to the idea of Fall. Having to get back into Summer mode while packing was a bit of a challenge when all I want to do is wear jewel tones and throw on cozy layers. But speaking of jewel tones... I am
kind of majorly obsessed with this kate spade new york red mini skirt. It definitely is the perfect piece for the holidays... but I decided to pair it with this light silk printed blouse to showcase a way to style it outside that magical time of year.
What do you guys think?
